I love having wedding at a different location rather than the norm, I prefer places that carries a sentimental feeling with me and also I got very inspired by Sex in the City (when Carrie decided to get married in a library, ding ding! Idea Sparks) but sadly we no longer have old sentimental library in SG.

I wanted the National Museum Wedding oh-so-badly just simply becoz I wanted to be part of history and becomes all-vintage-like that and due to some changes in their policy and the cost went sky rocking high we decided to skip it but somehow I wanna go there and snap some wedding pictures. But with a heavy heart I actually went on a hunt for that perfect venue……

I did a lot of research over the web and visiting some of these places before I landed on this beautiful place and I hit jackpot with Marion and Mum coz both love the place. Will tell you at the end of this entry on our chosen wedding venue.....

**Take note this entry is applicable only if you want to avoid “Void Deck/MPH or Community Centre”

In our tiny island of Singapore, there are surprisingly a variety of places that you might want to consider instead of having the usual “Void Deck/MPH or Community Centre” there are actually places which are hidden or less appealing to some due to location but if you like it make it work! If you think that it’s gonna cost more for such venues, I would say "hold on!" Coz you be surprise at the cost they are charging. And for those who prefer different and more originality read on....

Here are some the places I discover:

Spa Boutique
Location: Nasim Road (at the end of Orchard Road) - Central Area
Ambiance: Greenery, Rustic Charm and Relax

Budget: $3399 - $3699 (subject to tax)

• I love the greenery of this place and it's a centralize location, this is really nice for about 200 - 400 pax from sitting down - Come and Go Guest.
• Extra perk for this place since it's an actual spa they also have services you can engage such as "Back Massage" to be done during your wedding and this will definitely make you guest very happy.
• Their price are in a package form which consist of essential items which i think it's fair price to pay

The Arts House
Location: 1 Old Parliament Lane
Ambiance: Old School, Classic Elegant and Sentimental Feeling.

Budget: $1500 - 3550 (subject to tax)

• This is nice! I almost wanted this place for the wedding but.... I still prefer the venue we pick instead.
• Go to their website and you get to see the virtual tour which could give you a possible ideas on what to look for.
• Definitely can cater more guest than Spa Boutique, if I'm not mistaken up to 400 pax or more depending the preferred venue.
• Only thing there might be some restriction on caterer and so on, do check with them and they are more than willing to give you the answers.

Wedding at the Park (Various Parks)
Location: Depends on the Park you choose
Ambiance: Need I say more?? outdoor garden wedding!

Budget: $600 - $2000

• This is one of favourite venue, Singapore has many parks and there are a few that you can consider, some are pretty much like those "Lawn" type and some are semi-indoor which you don't need to worry about weather.
• Those which are the the Lawn type you may need to engage tentage contractor to do it for you.
• But I highly recommend Piai Plaze, Pasir Ris Park. it's has full facilities and no tentage require and still gives you that garden theme wedding.
• I would say slightly elaborate decor is required compare to the other venue.
• This recommended if you have a budget to control.
• By the way when I said Park, there are Hortpark, Pasir Ris Park, Labrador Park and East Coast park for you to choose from.

Burkill Hall, Botanic Garden
Location: Overlook National Orchid Garden
Ambiance: Old School, Garden Theme and Relax

Budget: $3750 (8hours of usage, including 7% tax)

• This venue definitely holds alot of history of Singapore and its location inside a garden.
• It's actually a 2 storey colonial mansion and the place is definitely about to take up 200 - 400 pax
• Minimum decor required coz the place it's self is beautiful.
• Even thou the budget is slightly higher but it already gave you an idea of sentimental feeling of this place.
• This is OUR WEDDING VENUE.
• Mum and Marion love this place than compare with any other venue i suggested. *ding ding i hit jackpot

So there you go! so of the interesting places I would highly suggest but besides the above mentioned venues there are other places that you might want to consider such as ACM, Singapore Flyer (Megu Event Venue), Hotels and so on.

To get that venue you need to do alot of research and planning well.

So I hope those in search of a wedding venue will have a uniquely yours wedding.
