Cleaning your Makeup Brushes

Brushes are just as important as taking care of your skin, simply having an amazing brush will gives you an amazing finish to your makeup, the effect that you achieved is about having a precision brush that work and also taking care of this babies brushes are just as important. You get my drift, right?!

So basically today's topic is all about looking after your brushes, on a daily basis. I highly recommend you get M.A.C Brush Cleanser which comes in 235ml for SGD21. I have tried other brush cleaner but some how using the M.A.C Brush Cleanser is more effective, alternatively you can try to get those alcohol swab from drugstores or Watson's but M.A.C Brush Cleanser works better. So what I do is I take some of the liquid from M.A.C Brush Cleanser and transfer some of the liquid to a small pump spray bottle since the M.A.C doesn't come with the spray.

So spray some on the liquid to a clean tissue or any soft cloth makes it better and you can always wash and reuse it again and make sure you spray a good amount out for those big kabuki or contour brushes. (the small spray bottle can be found at any beauty store, I got it at my neighbourhood beauty shop for only SGD1.50)

After that just quickly swirl around the brush on the tissue for a good 1 minute or so, you will start to notice the product/dirt will start to come out from the brush and the bristle of your brushes will start to show how clean it is now. If you feel that the brush are still not clean enough just go through the same steps again.

In this video Sam Chapman also does a tutorial on how to clean the real techniques brush as well it's almost the same method.

Now you will be able to see the different on how clean the brushes are. After cleaning them do leave them out to dry for 5minutes before using them this is just to make sure your brush are dry. Look at how much different and clean the brush is.

So that is how you do a quick clean for your brushes, but you will need to do a deep cleaning of the brushes at least ones a month. Deep cleaning brushes should be done often as this may damage the brushes and the bristles may come loose. This method are great for brush types as well. I will be doing another post on how to deep clean your brushes soon so do keep a look out.

Hope this tutorial helps you to look after those precious brushes. Remember to always invest on a good brush and made with high quality bristle, coz only high quality brushes will give the finishing look that you always wanted.

Aishah
