Pikachu or Picasso?
Fiqa was away at my in-law's (Marion's Parents by the way) she was having so much fun and was supposedly to stay there for a couple of days which turn out to be a week. Glad that she enjoyed her stay there, everyone get to know a little more about her.
So she finally came home and we hug each other so tightly, coz this is her 1st time being away for such a long time and at a place where she is not familiar with. But glad everyone is happy! So since we didnt had a chitty chat time for so long and we had one of the most longest conversation and during the conversation is struck me hard.
Fiqa is a young artiste and her love for art is amazing and sometimes overwhelmed me, it's always not about painting and drawing and coloring.... no for Fiqa it's also about knowledge and history of art and I find that it's amazing when your child talked about "Pablo Piccaso" Yes she just mentioned Picasso's full name and yes she knows Picasso by his full name, he knows that he was a working artiste and was once in poverty and desperation. She read about him, knows his work on the cubist art work and also she knows where is Eiffel Tower and the capital of art scene in France where Picasso started off. This definitely amazed me that what she learn in art class and in school too she learned many more important knowledge about art by her teachers who always inspiring her with all this knowledge.
"You want to be a painter you got to know the knowledge about a painter"
And to me the most amazing part when we open up wikipedia on Picasso she could actually read the whole article on Picasso and she understood it. Her inquisitive mind have brought her knowledge and joy.
Fiqa always amazed me with her artistic talent, since I allow her to express her art in many form it have helped her alot on ways for her to express her art and inspiration and sometimes her feelings. Also I know many of you have been asking where she learn all that art skills from..... she wasnt born an artistic in fact it is something she practice from kindergarten till now. She used to attend Art Bug for awhile and after which we switch her to something up to her level. Currently Fiqa attends SF Galleries at Telok Kurau with an art teacher named Ms Tan, she one of those dedicated teachers I've seen and art is her passion. Her class is I would say a little more challenging it's fun but it also give her a challenge to see how far she can go. So yeah this kind of art class is not conventional class where you send your kids for few hours of fun it's a little intense but it suits Fiqa well coz this is what she want.
Anyway Ms Tan have helped Fiqa with many range of techniques and medium of art that she choose to explore. To me a level of art work have went up so much and art piece she did can be very outstanding. Even her techniques of paintings and drawings can be beyond what I would have expected in a 10 year old. okay you guys gotta give me some credit.... I am proud of her.
So if you want to let your child explore her artistic talent and you live near Telok Kurau.... I suggest why not try SF Galleries coz Ms Tan is just great at handling the kids and giving them the skills that they need. If you are thinking of sending your kids to SOTA and want to build that portfolio I think Ms Tan could also help you with that.
But remember this don't force your kids no pressure no expectation leads to no dissapointment kids will always want to explore. Let them.
So hope this kill your curiosity on how Fiqa do well with her art pieces and if you are interested in her art piece do drop me an email lovesand@live.com
