Travel : Bangkok Shopping Holiday

Well Welcome back!

After so much over dosed of W Hotel Bangkok on my previous entry.... I shall blog more on the whole excitement of shopping in Bangkok. I know many have been there and many know about Bangkok and it's shopping, food and weather and whatsnot. But I do want to share my take on Bangkok instead.

And also since there are so much stuffs have change in Bangkok and new places to visit, I shall share them with you.... I am just nice like to share-share.

On the first day our Thai friend bought us to this halal restaurant some where near Do Meung Airport to have lunch, it's nice! But this place requires you to drive and I don't think it's easily accessible so I am just gonna entice you with a picture of my green curry.

After that we went to check in to the W Hotel Bangkok which was awesome place to stay and we are truly happy and will come back again to stay at W Hotel each time we come back to Bangkok. To read about the awesome-ness of the hotel click here

After that we walk around the hotel area and realized that there is a Boots Store (if you don't know what Boots is, is a UK drugstore brands just like our Watson's but with better brands such as Botanic and Soap & Glory, their prices are WAY CHEAPER!)

So I had to grab some stuffs obviously!
The YSL, Revlon and Lip Butters were bought at DFS Changi Airport but Soap & Glory and Maybelinne Lipsticks are from Boots.
On the first day, our Thai friend actually drive us to Asiatique the Riverfront which is a new shopping, entertainment and food area by the river. You can get to this place by taking the ferry or simply take a taxi which I think might cost more coz the traffic can be unforgiving in Bangkok sometimes.

Obviously Asiatique is much cleaner, nicer and most areas are air conditioned. The shops here are majority of local thai designers shops. Some are cheap but majority the clothes here cost more than Pratunam Market and Platinum Mall but I supposed if you like unique pieces from local designers and don't mind paying, why not? But please take note most shop here don't care about bargain and price are rather FIXED.

After a long stroll at Asiatique we headed back to our hotel, to have an early night coz the next day we need to wake rather early in the morning to go to Morning Market to do major shopping.

I am sure many of you know about Pratunam Market and how cheap it is but if you go to this Morning Market that starts from 5am till 8am which have even better deals. Morning Market are mainly for wholesaler so most of the time you can get majority of clothing at around 100bhat easily. Coz the concept everything have to be purchased 3 pieces or more to qualify for such super low price or wholesale price.

My advise to shop with a friend 2 or 3 of you should some how stick together while shopping, reason being that if you have to buy 3 piece but you only want 1 pieces chances are your other friend might also buy another design so that you can get wholesale price. In morning market bargain are fun! Yes you can bargain and the more you buy the more happier they are to entertain you.

Sorry I didn't snap any picture of the Morning Market, but to get there just walk the opposite of Platinum Mall and when you start seeing some Red or Pink tent ages walk thru it and at the end of the market you will see another market with abundance of clothes and you will notice that many locals are also there to buy clothes at wholesale price. Than you are at the right place. My advise go there early coz there will be less crowd and just take about 2.5hrs to do your shopping coz by than some of the wholesale shops will close. And you don't want to get struck in the crowded area where you can get lost so easily.

So after the early morning shopping we went back to you the hotel to get some breakfast at the W Hotel - The Kitchen Table and had continental breakfast.

After that we rest and relax for while before washing up and to go out for another shopping time.

Since Dean and Deluca are just a stone throw away from the hotel we were there like almost every day for lunch or dessert. Since we are the kind that get hungry easily we decided to grab a meal before continue with shopping.

On one of the days headed over to Chatuchak Weekend Market or JJ Market they called it for more crazy shopping obviously. This is a freaking huge place and within 1 day you can finish walking around. So since we know what and where to look for we went to section 3-8 for clothes, clothes and more clothes. There were also some fancy accessories shop too.

Bought stuffs for the family too while we were there.
Bought a skull t-shirt which the shop owner design it instantly. Shall do a #OOTD soon.
If you are buying clothes for guys I seriously suggest you grab them here instead of Platinum Mall coz it's cheaper and better clothing design.

And we bump to this cute Novelty Shop and I almost wanted to buy the Vespa for Marion but it was freaking expensive but I love this shop.

Thats us after a long freaking day of shopping.

So during dinner we went to Patpong in search of halal dinner and we bump to this Arab Kebab shop at the corner of the market. No bad either but I rather go search for some Thai food instead.

After dinner we went to take a stroll around the area and found another Boots! And after calculating the price, we confirm that Soap and Glory in Boots are way cheaper than Sephora in SG. So we had no choice but grab stuffs that we love.

And they were giving away a Lip Mother Pucker if you purchase 600bhat of Soap and Glory. Don't think the promo will go on forever but we were in luck.

So we grab some Righteous Butter, Breakfast Scrub, Nose, Face Scrub and Batise Dry Shampoo.
Oh yes we went a little nuts.

Lastly we went to Platinum Mall which I am sure there isn't further explanation require when you are there, clothes at the mall have definitely increase the last few years but one thing for sure you gotta be strategic in walking in that gigantic mall.

We even had some A&W before we leave to the airport, just because we Singaporean are always A&W deprived. hahahaha

And here are the fun people to shop with easy going Cousin Naqiah and our friend Aishah.

So we did break our bank in Bangkok and bought so much stuffs and bought an extra bag so that we could stash out all the shopping loots. Bangkok was fun with all that shopping and I do enjoy the cosmopolitan city much the only thing that I would always avoid is the street hawker food I don't know why..... but other than that I do love Bangkok and would definitely come back again.

If you want to know more about my trip or I might have missed any thing out do leave a comment below and I will definitely get back to you.

So thank you so much for reading and hope you enjoyed it.
