Review: Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation | Available in Sephora Singapore

This foundation get so much hype or what on Youtube? It seems everyone on Youtube reviewing of this Hourglass Vanish Seamless Foundation. It definitely made me want to know what the fuss is about or must be the marketing hype. But of course, I caved in and also got them as soon as they launch it in-store.

Hourglass claims this foundation can also be a concealer as the formulation is concentrated and pigmented, so you will expect full coverage. It supposed to be long wearing foundation that adapts to the warm of your body temperature and lastly it's vegan. (Full details go check Hourglass website)

This foundation also comes with a brush specifically made for application of this foundation and it is sold separately. There are also 26 shades for you to choose from and all the shades are available at Sephora Singapore store and online, They cater for warm, cold and pink undertone so be sure there will be a shade for you.

So let me break it down with the pros and cons for you:

Pros:

- Great shade selection.

- Sleek and Clean packaging.

- Stick Foundation is easy and compact to travel with.

- Easy to blend with a foundation brush. I used a Zoeva Silk Finish 102 brush to buff and blend.

- Love the demi-matte finish.

- Foundation is buildable but too much will caused to cake.

- A little goes a long way.

- Only need to dot the foundation around your face and not swiping instead.

Cons:

- To have long wearing time for this foundation you must use an oil control based, or else you will look greasy after 4hours.

- I would recommend only for those with a dry skin condition. Oily skin just stays away!

- This foundation is not flexible in term of application, you have to use a Mineral Veil Primer for the base and set it with Ambient powder to set it. Using other product does not seem to last very long.

- I used the Ambient blush it manage to stay on my cheeks but if I would use a different blusher it will start to fade away after a few hours.

- Due to this, I felt that this foundation can be technical if you are not familiar with makeup.

- Not suitable for all skin tone, especially oily unless you have a matte base to start with.

- Its high-end price tag with the least amount of foundation compare to other stick foundation.

Overall it feels a little disappointing that it did not live up to what it claims on the long wearing part and I felt it works well Hourglass products and not with other product, setting your foundation with powder from other brands may not be suitable. Or at least I tried a few setting powder from a drugstore and high end, the foundation ended up creased in less than 4 hours.

I did a few method of application, but here is what works for me:

Base - Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer

Foundation - Hourglass Vanish Seamless Foundation

Corrector & Concealer - Giorgio Armani Corrector and NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

Setting Powder - Hourglass Ambient Light Powder

Blush - Hourglass Blusher
